Introducing....Dr. Combs

Sean Combs is a man of many moinkers. Over the course of his illustrious career, the music mogul was known to the world as Puff Daddy, P.Diddy, and Diddy. However, at the 146th Commencement Ceremony for Howard University’s 2014 graduates, the world was introduced to Dr. Combs.

Only this family could take one of its sons who already had three name changes and give him a fourth,” Diddy proclaims during his commencement address.

The Hip-Hop icon received a honorary doctorates degree in Humanities from his Alma Mater Howard University. Combs attended Howard as a business major for two years before dropping out in 1990, but the Howard impact journeyed with him throughout his career.

Howard University didn’t just change my life — it entered my soul, my heart, my being, and my spirit,” he said during the ceremony.

Previous controversy surrounding the selection of Combs as graduation orator was forgotten as Combs delivered a profound speech equipped with humor, motivational words, and sentimental testimonies. Adorned in full graduation regalia, Combs was joined by “the love his life,” his mother Janice Combs, his family and friends including Mary J. Blidge, will I.am., Jermaine Dupri, French Montana, and Bow Wow.

Dr. Combs was amongst a graduating class of 2,600 students that included the largest batch of PHD recipients in the University’s history. In addition to Dr.Combs, four others received honorary degrees: CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer, PepsiCo Chairman and chief executive Indra K. Nooyi, legendary jazz artist Benny Golsonm and Howard University Medical Professor, Clive Callender.

Dr.Combs demonstrates that success has no formula but through persistence and hard work, you can spawn your wildest dreams into reality. “Nobody is going to invite you to the front of the line; you got to push your way to the front of the line.” Congratulations Dr. Combs.
