Charly and Margaux constitute a popular violin and viola duo, collectively and popularly known as CHARGAUX.
The interdisciplinary doublet purifies classical string arrangements
with innovative sounds of electronic, pop, and hip-hop, and their
serendipitous meeting launched a harmonious career within the art,
music, and film industry. Beyond their New York subway performances, the
pair contributed the idiosyncratic string composition on Kendrick
Lamar’s “Don’t Kill My Vibe,” from his debut studio album, Good Kid. m.a.a.d. City.
Furthermore, CHARGAUX served as the opening act for Glee Star Darren
Crisis during his sold out “Listen Up,” North American tour and recently
partnered with ScHoolboy Q for multiple work on his debut album, Oxymoron.
Their musical apparatus can also be heard in Tame Impala and Kendrick
Lamar’s collaborative single “Backwards,” for the feature film Divergent.
As the girls prepare for the release of their Broke & Baroque
EP, they unveil sensual cut “I’m So Pretty,” arrayed with sophisticated
vocals, electronic sound bids, bowed strings, and perfectly fiddled
violin fifths. CHARGAUX successfully contrives classical imprints with
modernized modulations and does so in sui generis style.
Broke & Baroque EP is scheduled for release this summer. Stream the track below and check out their exclusive interview with Opening Ceremony.
