Album Stream: Raury: Indigo Child

Since the inception of his spiritual folk-anthem “The God Whisper,” Raury has implanted a new type of musical rawness into the blogoshperes. His artistic vigor and musical versatility inhibits definite categorization and genre labeling. The track embodied folk-infectious guitar riffs with gospel imprints and revolutionary vocal declarations. His follow-up duet cut “Sunshine,” created ethereal harmonies with slight doses of spoken word lyricism while “Cigarette Song” sculpted a galvanizing sound-bed of acoustic strings and delicate croons of life and love — All catching the attention of Kid Cudi and Kanye West.
Now the 18-year old East Atlanta crooner has officially released his highly-anticipated debut project, Indigo Child. The effort is an alluring blueprint of genre-blending sounds planted in themes of youthful revolt, personal revelation, teenage revolution, and revitalized social standards. The 13-track featured production is a synthesis of gospel, rap, folk, soul, indie, rock, plus interludes of real-life recorded arguments between Raury and his mother.
Indigo Child can be downloaded for free from Raury’s website, after playing an accompanying game and beating a certain score. The project is also available for download from Audiomack. Stream below.
